Village of Wappingers HGTV Video Gives Us All The Feels
A video produced to get the Village of Wappingers on HGTV shows how just much heart this town really has.
In January the Village of Wappingers announced that they were actively seeking to win a "Hometown Takeover" by the home improvement channel, HGTV. The show is looking to makeover an entire town in what they're calling "their biggest renovation project ever."
The Village of Wappingers quickly went into action, encouraging residents and business owners to fill out an application. Videos, photos and letters explaining why the village is the perfect candidate for the makeover started flooding into the HGTV offices.
With the deadline fast approaching the village is giving it one final push, with a heartfelt video explaining why Wappingers Falls is perfect for the show.
The video, produced by the Village of Wappingers Falls Economic Development Committee, captures the heart and soul of the residents in a town that's seen its fair share of ups and downs.
Local business owners, elected officials and ordinary citizens tell the story of the village's climb back from disaster. After several fires and a building collapse, this historic village refuses to give up. A movement known as Wappingers Rises has channeled the energy of this small town to continue to rebuild and revitalize no matter how many obstacles get in the way.
Whether this video gets HGTV to bring their Hometown Takeover or not, it truly demonstrates how special the people in the Village of Wappingers really are, and for that reason, they've already won.
