Poughkeepsie's The Artist's Palate has served their last meal and has closed their doors permanently.

Originally opened in 2006 in an old clothing store, it has gone on to serve customers for more than 14 years. Known for their new American and vegetarian cuisine, diners in the City of Poughkeepsie will now have to look elsewhere.

Owner and chef Charles Fells also own CANVAS a private catering venue and in 2015 he acquired Brasserie 292 also on Main Street in Poughkeepsie. Links to the old Artist's Palate website have been redirected to Brasserie 292 which will remain open for business as usual.

Brasserie 292 is open Tuesday through Sunday and seats 80 in the dining room.

What should replace The Artist's Palate? Unfortunately, it's too small for a White Castle location.

DID YOU KNOW: Braserie is a type of French restaurant with a relaxed vibe differing from a bistro in that bistros are small and intimate where a brasserie has a more open setting.
