
Officers Talk Suicidal Man Off Bridge in Wappingers Falls
Two officers were able to rescue a suicidal man from a bridge in Wappingers Falls early Wednesday morning.
At approximately 12:06 a.m. it was reported that a man, who was located on a bridge located on West Main Street in the Village of Wappingers Falls, was making suicidal statements that included “he couldn’t do this anymore.”
Officers arrived on the scene within one minute. They encountered that male standing on the concrete wall facing the falls. The officers used their training in speaking to the male for approximately 15 minutes before getting him to a safe area where he was evaluated by medical personnel.
