New York Police Free Owl Tangled in Soccer Net

As we know, police do a lot more than just patrol the streets and write tickets. Just last weekend, officers spent five hours freeing a trapped kitten from a car engine in Brooklyn.

On Friday, police in North Greenbush, NY received a call that another critter was in need of assistance, though this time the rescue would involve a soccer net. CBS Albany reports that police helped rescue an owl that had somehow gotten itself tangled in the net in the middle of the night. To make matters worse, there had been heavy rainfall that morning making the rescue even more difficult.

CBS says that police got some help from ENCON, who was there in case the owl was seriously injured. The officers were able to free the ornery owl by freeing its wings and feet from the netting.

The owl was not injured. Once free the owl simply dried itself off, and took the skies and free animal once again.
