$5,000 Birthing Mannequin Found Abandoned on Hudson Valley Road
Did you happen to lose an anatomically correct birthing doll?
Police were most likely confused when they discovered a body bag on the side of the road on Sunday. Luckily, the big blue bag did not contain a corpse, but troopers couldn't be blamed for thinking it was one.
The bag contained a Noelle Maternal and Neonatal Simulator. The device is a full-sized human doll that's used to train medical staff on how to give birth and care for a newborn. According to the manufacturer, their dummies have been in use for over 50 years. They are designed to simulate the birthing experience before, during and after delivery.
Poughkeepsie State Police report that the doll was found on Hollow Road in the town of Clinton around 8:00am on Sunday morning. If anyone has information on who this medical training doll belongs to, they should call the State Police at (845) 677-7347. and reference case number 9466534.
