There was quite a bit of excitement on the Walkway Over the Hudson this week.

On Wednesday the PIX11 morning news sent reporter Lisa Mateo to file live reports from the Walkway Over the Hudson. The show cut back several times to Mateo, who talked up the local Hudson Valley area.

In one segment, Walkway Over the Hudson executive director, Elizabeth Waldstein-Hart was interviewed by Mateo about the history of the bridge and how the idea of turning it into a walkway was finally made into a reality.

The weather was pretty cold and windy on the walkway, so there weren't many pedestrians around to wave and smile for the cameras. Not many people were aware of the broadcast either, since the only advance warning came on a message to the Walkway's Facebook page.

After the broadcast, the Walkway Over the Hudson posted a behind-the-scenes video of the live remote.
