Poughkeepsie Youth Police Academy Accepting Applications
The Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department is accepting applications for the 2018 Youth Police Academy.
The 5-day program will begin on Monday, June 25, 2018, and will end on Friday, June, 29. The applicants must be Town of Poughkeepsie residents who will be entering 10th, 11th, or 12th grade in September of 2018.
There is no fee for the program, and class size will be limited to 20 students.
The program is designed to be a hands-on interactive experience for motivated youth. Attendees will be introduced to the core 3 functions of policing, being taught by highly-trained, certified instructors.
Applications may be obtained in person at the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department, located at 19 Tucker Drive, Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
Completed application can be returned to the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department no later than 5:00 p.m. Friday, June 8, 2018.
