NY State Man Robs Store Dressed as Darth Vader

The Force was not strong with this one.

Jacksonville, FL sheriff's deputies arrested a man on Sunday who allegedly attempted to rob a convenience store wearing a Darth Vader mask and chest plate.

According to Jacksonville.com, the suspect has been identified as 32 year-old Jacob Jeremy Mercer of North Tonawanda, N.Y. Police said when Mercer showed the pistol and demanded money from the clerk, the employee responded by throwing a jar of blue cheese dressing at the suspect, hitting him in the face.

A witness said Mercer's face was bleeding from the jar of dressing during his escape. The witness then said that the masked Sith wannabe ran from the store, to his car, and then drove off as fast as he could.

Police reportedly found Mercer's vehicle a short time later. Officers eventually found where the New York state man was staying.

Mercer, who's face and nose were still bleeding from the bottle of blue cheese dressing, was arrested for armed robbery after a witness identified him as the robber.

Police said they found several handguns and ammunition in Mercer’s backpack.
