New Brewery to Open on Route 9 This Month
There's a new brewery opening up on April 14 and we've got your first peek inside.
The owners are just about ready to open the doors and soon everyone will know all about Cousins Ale Works.
Aaron Browne and Chris Dorn are the co-owners of the brewery that blends their love of Revolutionary War reenactments and brewing. The huge space is decorated with memorabilia and images not only of the Revolutionary War, but also Wappingers Falls history. The brewing operation is also open to the bar, so you can watch the cousins at work while you drink.
You'll be able to check the place out for yourself on April 14 when the doors officially open for the first time at 3pm. Although this isn't their official "grand opening" (that will be coming in May) the brewery will be open for business with food and, of course, plenty of beer.
Four beers will be ready for opening day and available in pints and "flights" so you can sample them all. The beers include their Lone Bee IPA, Browne Bess Ale, Sweet Revolution Brown Ale and a special beer dedicated to the renaissance happening in the Village of Wappingers called Wappingers Rises Live Free Stout. This beer will only be available at the brewery or bars and restaurants within the village.
Cousins Ale Works have already been selling out of their specially made tankards, which customers can keep at the brewery to fill up whenever they visit. The drink ware will also allow regulars to access exclusive specials and events.
Cousins is located behind the Dutchess Shopping Plaza on Route 9 in Wappingers Falls. The large space behind the Autozone can handle plenty of customers and also allow for live music and other entertainment.
