On October 27, at approximately 12:30 a.m., State Police responded to a report of a shooting at a party on Waldorf Ridge Road in the Town of Copake.

At the scene, Troopers and Columbia County Deputies encountered a large group of young people at the residence and a male subject with numerous gunshot wounds.

The preliminary investigation revealed on the night of October 26, the homeowner hosted a Halloween party for several friends.  Throughout the night, the party grew to more than 60 guests as it was advertised on social media.

During the party, an argument between attendees broke out and the victim was shot several times with a handgun. The victim was treated by Copake Rescue and transported to Albany Med via Life Net helicopter.

The investigation led investigators to the suspect’s residence, where he was taken into custody on Sunday night.

Jesus Figueroa, 26, of Philmont, N.Y., was charged with Attempted Murder second-degree, felony and criminal possession of a weapon second-degree, a felony.

Figueroa was charged and arraigned in the Town of Claverack Court and remanded to the Columbia County Jail without bail, awaiting further proceedings.

The victim is currently in stable condition in Albany Medical Center.
