If you love driving around to check out the best Halloween decorations, someone in Fishkill has an idea for you. 🎃

A local resident has floated the idea of creating a Fishkill Halloween Decorations Map, featuring homes around town that go all-out for Halloween.

But before putting the map together, they're trying to find out if there's enough interest to make it worthwhile.

The idea is pretty simple: Residents with impressive Halloween displays could submit their addresses, along with the dates and times their decorations will be on display, if applicable, and a description of what they've got going on.

If enough people participate, the goal would be to create a map that families, friends and Halloween fans could use to plan their own self-guided tour around Fishkill.

And we're talking everything from family-friendly pumpkin displays to elaborate lights, giant skeletons, ghosts, inflatables and full-on haunted-house-style setups.

The person behind the idea is specifically asking Fishkill residents: Would you actually use a map like this?

They're also looking for homeowners who think their Halloween display deserves a spot on the map: email insidescoopfishkill@gmail.com.

According to the post, residents' names and other personal information would not be published. The proposed map would only show the address of the decorated home and whatever display details the homeowner chooses to provide.

This isn't an official Town of Fishkill project, and the town is not announcing or sponsoring the proposed map. It's simply a local community idea being floated on social media to see if residents want to make it happen, but it does sound pretty cool.

Fishkill does have some Halloween decorating history. The town held a Halloween decoration contest in 2021, giving residents a chance to show off decorated homes, porches, windows, balconies and other displays.

Now, a few years later, the idea is coming back in a different form: What if Fishkill had its own unofficial Halloween house tour?
