So it seems that I am supposed to either totally hate Donald Trump or love him. Guess what? I don’t. In fact, I’m kind of indifferent. That doesn’t mean I don’t care about our future, it just means I don’t have strong feelings either way about President Trump. Or any politician, for that matter.

Is President Trump a jerk? I guess he is sometimes. I think all politicians are jerks sometimes. I think all people, myself included, are jerks sometimes. It’s human nature. Some of my friends hate him with a passion and think he will ruin the world. I have other friends who think he is going to save the country. I love them all and will not discuss politics with any of them. I’m not going to let a difference of opinion change a friendship. I’ve seen politics tear friendships and families apart over the last couple of years. I can’t think of anything more ridiculous. We all want what’s best for our country, our lives and our futures. Losing friends and family over a difference of opinion is no way to achieve that end.

And it’s not that I don’t have ideas about how I think our country should work, I do. And I always choose the person who I feel can come closest to what I see as ideal. It may not be the same person you choose, but I will always respect your right to choose and believe in that person.
