Seven of the world's fastest racehorses from five countries are all gathered in Newburgh NY.

The horses will all be competing for $1 million at the Yonkers International Trot on October 14. But for now, they're visiting Newburgh.

After a nine hour flight that departed from Belgium, Europe's top racehorses arrived at JFK airport on Wednesday. According to NY Sports Day, the animals are seven of the top harness racing competitors from Denmark, Finland, Italy, France and Sweden.

After their flight, the horses were immediately transported to Stewart International Airport in Newburgh for a mandatory quarantine. Stewart is home to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's New York Animal Import Center, which provides import quarantine services for animals entering the country.

On Friday, after the quarantine is over, the horses will head down to Yonkers Raceway at Empire City Casino to shake off the jet lag and begin getting ready for the race. The Yonkers International Trot takes place on Saturday, October 14 at 1pm.
