When Will The Leaves Start to Change in The Hudson Valley?

Do you feel the change? The days are getting shorter and there is a chill in the air.

Fall will be here before you know it and the Hudson Valley will be painted in layers of red, yellow and orange. I think we can all agree that the Hudson Valley is a top destination for beautiful fall foliage views.

So to prepare for the leaf-peeping season I did some research and found an interactive foliage map thanks to SmokyMountains.Com.

According to the map, we'll start seeing some "patchy" foliage coloring around September 21st. Which makes sense, since the first day of Autumn is September 23rd.

By the 28th it looks like we'll have a partial color change.

Once we hit October in the Hudson Valley, the foliage will really be picking up. The map predictions say that by October 5th we will be near peak foliage. While way upstate New York will already have hit peak.

Clear your schedules for the week of October 12th. It's predicted that parts of the Hudson Valley will hit peak that week, while the following week (October 19th) all of the Hudson Valley should see peak foliage.
