‘Wet & Wild’ Winter Predicted for the Hudson Valley

It may still be summer, but winter 2019 will be here before you know it.

The Farmers' Almanac released their predictions for the upcoming 2019-2020 winter season across the country. For New York and the Hudson Valley, the prediction is expected to be a cold wintry mix.

Expect colder than normal temperatures for the Northeast region. The Farmers' Almanac predicts that only the western third of the country will see normal winter temperatures. The coldest portion of winter is expected to arrive during the end of January into early February.

Sadly, the Farmers' Almanac predicts above-normal winter precipitation for the eastern third of the U.S. So combine the heavy precipitation with colder than normal temperatures in the Hudson Valley and you'll get a lot of snow, as well as a wintry mix of rain and sleet.

For road conditions, January is expected to be rough in the eastern half of the U.S., according to the Farmers' Almanac. Expect a lot of precipitation and strong winds between January 4-7 and 12-15. Depending on your location in the east, it could be a lot of rain, snow, sleet, and ice.
