WEIRD: Over 1,400 Fake Toothbrushes Seized at Airport
When you hear about a huge police seizure at a nearby airport, you usually think of drugs or weapons. But toothbrushes? What is this about?
ABC is reporting that the bizarre incident happened February 14 at Philadelphia International Airport. ABC is reporting that Customs and Border Protection officers seized over 1,400 fake Oral-B toothbrush heads that arrived form Turkey. It may not sound like big deal, but the phony merchandise is actually worth more than $12,000.
One big issue with stuff like this is hygiene. Customs says that these fake brush heads are manufactured in unsanitary and unsafe facilities which could sicken users. And of course, with hygiene and cleanliness being on everyone's minds with fears of Coronavirus and influenza, getting fake toothbrushes like this off the street is a very good thing.
