These Businesses are the Hudson Valley’s Largest Employers
A list of the largest private sector employers released by the state shows which companies have the most jobs in our area.
New York State just released a ranking of the largest private sector employers in New York State and its 10 labor market regions, including The Hudson Valley. It shows which companies are hiring the most people in our area.
The Hudson Valley region includes Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster and Westchester counties. According to the data, these are the largest employers in those counties listed in alphabetical order:
- Crystal Run Healthcare
- Home Depot
- IBM Corp.
- Nyack Hospital
- Orange Reginal Medical Center
- Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc
- ShopRite Supermarkets
- Stop & Shop Supermarkets
- Wal-Mart Stores, Inc.
- Westchester Medical Center
You'll notice that healthcare and retail seem to be the two biggest employers in our area. And that's not much of a surprise, especially since the same industries seem to also employ the most workers in New York State. Here's a list of the largest private sector employers in New York
