Thanksgiving Wind Gusts Could Knock Out Hudson Valley Power
Hudson Valley weather reports are calling for rain and high winds heading into Thanksgiving. Central Hudson has advised local residents to be prepared as power interruptions are possible as well as dangerous driving conditions.
According to Paul Haering, Senior VP of Engineering and Operations at Central Hudson, "Our customers should be prepared for the possibility of stormy weather conditions during one of the busiest travel days of the year. We are closely monitoring the weather and are prepared to respond in the event of power interruptions. We will have additional line crews and Contact Center personnel working to respond to any outages."
Local residents are encouraged to take precautions like paying attention to weather advisories, charging electronic devices in advance and keeping a flashlight and batteries handy.
Beware of fallen trees and limbs and be careful when traveling. Anyone who comes across downed power lines should stay at least 30 feet away and assume that all lines are live.
Should there be outages, you can stay informed of storm restoration efforts from Central Hudson by enrolling in their text notification program, by downloading their mobile app or by calling (845) 452-2700.
