Police: Traffic Stop Leads to Felony Charges For CT Woman
A Connecticut woman illegally possessed a firearm, and is facing felony charges.
On January 2, 2018, at approximately 10:00 p.m. state police from Troop K stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation.
An investigation found that the operator of the vehicle was illegally in possession of a Ruger 9e semiautomatic pistol.
The operator, identified as Yajaira Berrios, age 36, of Bridgeport, CT was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Firearm, a class E Felony, and multiple vehicle and traffic violations.
Berrios was arraigned in the Town of Pleasant Valley Court and remanded to Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
She is scheduled to return to court later this month.
