Following a nearly month-long investigation, a Hudson Valley man was arrested for allegedly assaulting two customers at a popular bar on Cinco De Mayo.

On Cinco De Mayo around 1 a.m., police were called to the Pig Bar and Grill located at 110 Partition Street in Saugerties for a report about a man who assaulted two customers.

Through an investigation, police developed 23-year-old Travis Gonzalez of Saugerties as the suspect. He fled the bar before police arrived, officials say.

According to witnesses, Gonzalez attacked both customers after he was asked by bar staff to leave the establishment because he was too intoxicated to be served and was acting out at both staff and the patrons in the bar.

Gonzalez reportedly exchanged words with two of the patrons at the bar and then attacked both patrons as they were leaving the bar. One suffered serious injuries, the other a minor injury, police say.

On Friday, Gonzalez was charged with two counts of assault, one a felony the other a misdemeanor.

Gonzalez was arraigned in the Village of Saugerties Justice Court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail $50,000 bond. An order of protection was issued by the court on behalf of both victims.
