It's no surprise as we draw closer and closer to Labor Day, police will be cracking down again on drug and impaired driving.

These means more cops and more sobriety checkpoints.

The Times Herald says that the Get Sober of Get Pulled Over national campaign starts Thursday and will run through September 5.

New York State police will be out in full force with more checkpoints to make sure everyone gets home safe. If you're drinking, be sure to have someone sober drive or call a cab or shuttle.

Don't risk your life or the life of someone else by drinking and driving. And yes, as the commercials say: Buzzed driving is drunk driving.

Labor Day is one of the deadliest times of year for drunk driving fatalities.

According to data from the Institute for Traffic Safety Management and Research, alcohol was a contributing factor in more than seven thousand accidents in New York state in 2015.
