New York Man Allegedly Breaks Into Neighbor’s House To Steal Booze
Sometimes on a slow news day, stories like this can stand out.
A Canisteo, NY man stands accused of a late night alcohol run that did not involve a trip the local convenience store. Instead, WETM is reporting that a 25 year-old man allegedly broke into his own neighbor's house to pick up some booze for a late night drink on April 16.
New York State police say the thirsty suspect used force to break into the home, as his neighbor slept. This is when the intruder allegedly headed for the fridge to take his pick of booze. WETM says the neighbor called 911 when he noticed his fridge had been raided. The beer bandit did not get far, as troopers arrested him and then later charged him with Burglary in the 2nd Degree.
Why did he do it? Was he already too intoxicated to drive to the store? Was it too late? Did the neighbor potentially have a really nice bottle of Cristal chillin' in the fridge? So many unanswered questions.
It is also unclear exactly what kind of alcohol he allegedly stole and how much he was able to grab before running off. More than likely though, he was unable to take any good swigs as he was running from police.
The suspect was taken to the Steuben County Jail.
