The New York Blood Center will host nearly 100 blood drives this week to honor the victims 9/11.

To honor the victims of the tragic events, the New York Blood Center will host 95 blood drives across the greater New York area this week. The drives will help the blood center prepare for potential emergencies and ensure hospitals and patients have access to the blood they need.

Andrea Cefarelli, Senior Executive Director of Donor Recruitment for New York Blood Center said:

In the face of unspeakable tragedy, New Yorkers came together to lend a hand and support each other. It is in that spirit that the New York Blood Center will be hosting close to 100 blood drives this year, commemorating the anniversary of September 11th by giving back to our communities

Many of the drives will be co-hosted by first-responders and families of victims looking to give back to the community. It only takes one hour to donate, and a single donation can save multiple lives.

Nearly 2,000 donations are needed each day in New York and New Jersey alone. A full list of all 95 blood drives the New York Blood Center is hosting this week can be found here.
