An Ulster County man was arrested after he allegedly entered his ex-girlfriend's home through a second story window.

On July, 24, at approximately 9:00 p.m. Saugerties Police responded to a 911 call reporting a man armed with a knife had been in a dispute and assaulted a female at a residence in town.

While patrols were enroute to the location, 911 dispatched that the man had fled the scene. The man, Derek McGraw, 38, of Kingston was located a short distance from the residence.

An investigation revealed that McGraw, the victim's ex-boyfriend had entered her home through a second floor window earlier in the day and removed her cell phone so she could not call for help when he planned to return and physically harm her.

McGraw was arrested and charged with Burglary second-degree (felony), Attempted Assault third-degree, Criminal Mischief, and Harassment.

McGraw was arraigned in the Saugerties Justice Court and remanded to Ulster County Jail without bail.

The court issued an order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim.
