Police are reminding residents in this Hudson Valley village to lock their vehicles.

The Village of Wappingers Falls Police Department is informing residents that between July 27 and August 1, multiple unlocked vehicles were entered by an unknown person and items were stolen from within them.

The reported incidents included multiple areas throughout the entire Village of Wappingers.

Village residents are reminded to please lock your vehicles at all times when unattended. Be sure to remove any valuables from plain sight, as that may create a temptation to criminals.

I spent years living in the village, and had my car rummaged through once, and it was my fault as i left my car unlocked. Though, it doesn't matter which town or village, there's always people that will take advantage of an unlocked vehicle.

So, make sure to lock your car.

Please report any suspicious activity or persons to the Village of Wappingers Falls Police at (845) 297-1011.
