Former Marist Basketball Star Looks to Make it to the NBA
Marist men's basketball's all-time leading scorer is getting a second shot to make an impression on NBA scouts.
Marist announced that Chavaughn Lewis has signed to play with the Detroit Pistons summer league team. He'll be in uniform Saturday when the Pistons enter the Orlando Pro Summer League series.
The 23-year-old Lewis is a 2015 graduate of Marist. He played for the Philadelphia 76ers summer league team after graduation but was unable to make the cut. Lewis later signed to play professional ball for Juventus in Lithuania.
Lewis finished his college career as the Red Fox's leading scorer with 2,119 points. He was one of New York state's top high school players coming out of St. Mary's Manhasset in 2011.
Best of luck of Chavaughn! Hopefully he'll make the NBA roster this fall.
