Food Network’s ‘Restaurant Impossible’ Filming on Rt 9 This Week
The Food Network will be taking over a Hudson Valley restaurant this week.
The popular reality series, Restaurant Impossible, is returning to the Food Network after a three-year hiatus. The show started in 2011, following chef Robert Irvine across the country as he helped struggling restaurant owners turn their businesses around.
The show kicked off their sixth season by visiting a seafood restaurant in the Hudson Valley. Joe Willy's Seafood House was featured on the season premiere titled "Something's Fishy." At the time, the restaurant was located in Fishkill near Splash Down. Irvine helped fix the restaurant's dishwasher, tighten up their menu and paid to have a new sign made so people could find them when driving by on Route 9.
Since then, Joe Willy's has moved further up north on Route 9 across from Kohls in Wappingers Falls. To follow up on their progress, Irvine will be returning to Joe Willy's on July 8 with a film crew in tow. According to the restaurant, the filming will take place during a special dinner service. Reservations are being taken for Monday night's special meal through their Facebook page.
According to the post, a "special celebrity guest" is also planning on making a visit to the restaurant during the filming. It's unclear if the film crew will only be filming an update during the July 8 dinner, or if filming will be taking place for a longer period of time inside the restaurant. Episodes of for season 19 are already airing on The Food Network, so it's unknown if this segment will be used for an upcoming episode this year or for a possible 20th season of the show.
The Boris and Robyn Show spoke with Chef Irvine about his experience at Joe Willy's back in 2015. At the time he was very proud of their success since appearing on Restaurant Impossible.
