We all expected some type of rain today but the amount that is coming through parts of the Hudson Valley is causing travel to be hazardous in many places. Orange and Rockland Counties in the area of Bear Mountain on Route 9w and the Palisades Parkway have seen some road flooding issues grow into road closures.

At approximately 5:30 PM today (July 9, 2023) the New York State Police shared the news that there were road closures in parts of Orange and Rockland counties. There is no doubt that unnecessary travel today is probably not a good idea but it is also becoming apparent that road closures are also going to become an additional issue.
