Welcome to the Hudson Valley in late December, early January.

We're blessed with that beautiful negative symbol in front of a very low number, it seems, every other morning. If you have stepped outside in the past three days or so, you'll know...it's cold. If you need a reminder that it's freezing outside, just check your social media timeline.

With that being said, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has put out a Hazardous Weather Condition alert for today, Thursday December 28th. There is a wind chill advisory in effect until 1:00pm this afternoon.

According to NOAA.gov, with a wind chill advisory you can expect " very cold wind chills that will cause frostbite in as little as 30 minutes to exposed skin."

If you're planning on going outside today,  layer up and make sure you have gloves and a hat. Some counties, such as Sullivan, have warming centers open to those who may be without shelter.

And in case you didn't know, tonight's low? -2. You're welcome.
