Tompkins Community Bank is congratulating a Hudson Valley veteran who has been named a WPDH Vet Who Rocks.

This month, Madison Fletcher will receive $500 and become eligible for a $10,000 reward to be handed out to one Hudson Valley Veteran on Veteran's Day. She was nominated to be a Vet Who Rocks by Craig Fletcher who shared Madison's story with us.

Known as Commander Maddie, Fletcher is a Navy Veteran who was named the very first female commander at the VFW post in Amenia. It's there where she began her tireless work to raise money and organize events for veterans. Whether it's a pig roast, poker run, karaoke night or the popular car show, Commander Maddie is driven to help the community and our local veterans.

Fletcher is now the District 2 Commander of the VFW, covering Sullivan, Ulster, Dutchess, Westchester and Putnam counties, making it the largest district in New York. Aside from this huge responsibility, Commander Maddie is also a loving wife and mother to her 11-year-old daughter, Brooklyn.
