A Hooters-style restaurant with a Scottish theme has zeroed in on an opening date at the former Bugaboo Creek location in Poughkeepsie.

In April the Tilted Kilt restaurant chain started booking auditions for local women interested in being "Kilt Girls." The servers wear tight-fitting Tartan tops and skirts and are chosen for their, ahem, personality. In a recent online posting the Tilted Kilt put a call out for local "bombshells Next Door." The job posting invited the "next Hollywood Hottie or a Country Cutie" to be a part of the “Best Looking Sports Pub You’ve Ever Seen.”

Since then there hasn't been many visible changes to the old Bugaboo Creek location, at least from the outside. Improvements to the rest of the Route 9 strip mall have been underway, including an updated facade on the other stores next to the restaurant.

But those who've been anxiously waiting for the Tilted Kilt to open won't have to wait much longer. In a posting on the Poughkeepsie restaurant's Facebook page, manager Tejas Patel says that he's expecting the doors to open during the first week of November.

As for those Kilt Girl wannabes, the manager has also announced that those who've applied for server positions will be invited in for their auditions over the next two weeks. So if you think you have just the right attributes for the job, you might want to get those resumes in now. You can find out more on the Poughkeepsie location's Facebook page.
