If you, like many, are tired of what's going on right now on planet Earth, you might want to shift your attention the skies soon. AccuWeather reports that the Lyrid meteor shower will return in the month of April. This is the first major meteor shower since January.

The Lyrids will peak late April 21 into early April 22, bringing around 15 to 20 shooting stars per hour. The shower will best seen in the Northern Hemisphere.

Now, of course we wonder if we'll get good viewing conditions across the Hudson Valley? There will be a new moon that night, so that's good. However, we haven't had much luck in the past when it came to seeing astronomical events such as this. And of course, since it's three weeks away, it's way too far off to predict an accurate forecast.
