Starbucks Opening New Dutchess County Location
A new Starbucks is under construction, and it may be at their most convenient location yet.
The Poughkeepsie Galleria has been without a Starbucks since 2008. When the coffee giant decided to close 600 stores a decade ago, the locations in the Village of Wappingers and the Poughkeepsie Galleria were both permanently shut down.
Well, now it looks like Starbucks is back at the mall.
Target in Poughkeepsie is currently remodeling their snack area and converting the space into a Starbucks coffee shop. This certainly isn't a new idea. There are already Starbucks locations operating inside the Target stores in Kingston, Monroe, Middletown and Newburgh. Now, Poughkeepsie is finally getting their own.
Signs at Target in Poughkeepsie are soliciting for jobs at the new coffee shop, encouraging people who are interested to fill out an application on their website. Employees say they don't know the exact date the Starbucks will be opening, but one of them guessed that it would probably be sometime next month.
