To say that we are all wondering when we will see the sunshine again is probably an understatement. The bad news is it won't be today, but the good news is that it probably will be tomorrow, we just have to get through the possibility of some strong to severe storms this afternoon.

The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement for Greene, Columbia, Ulster, and Dutchess counties for this afternoon into this evening.

There is concern that some strong to severe storms could move through these areas later on this afternoon and continue into this evening. Some of these storms could be severe with damaging winds and large hail. The timing looks to be between 1 and 8 pm today and, according to the National Weather Service, the possibility of a tornado can't be ruled out. Should any of these storms cause severe thunderstorm watches or warnings to be issued, we will update you here with all of the information you may need.

If you see severe weather developing in your area, please take cover and be safe before you report your conditions to the National Weather Service.
