A man named Richard Wallace from Rhode Island set a brand new national record for the largest pumpkin.

How big are we talking? Try a whopping 2,261 pounds!

What's really funny is that Richard beats the old record which was held by his son, Ron. Ron set the record last year at 2,230 pounds.

The father and son duo are the first growers to both hit the one ton benchmark for pumpkins.

Both record-shattering pumpkins were from the annual Frerichs Farm Pumpkin Weigh Off, which happens every Columbus Day weekend in Warren, RI.

Here's a YouTube clip from the 2014 weigh off.
