Police:Hudson Valley Man Robbed ShopRite, Broke Employee’s Finger
A Dutchess County man is accused of robbing a local ShopRite and breaking an employee's finger.
On Friday evening, officers with the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department responded to the area of ShopRite located at 1895 South Road for a report of a shoplifter fleeing the store.
While officers were en route to the area it was further reported that a man allegedly threatened a ShopRite employee by brandishing a knife.
An investigation revealed, no knife was displayed, but a store employee sustained a broken finger from fighting with the suspect when attempting to stop him from fleeing store with merchandise, police say.
Officers found the suspect, identified as 28-year-old Antonio Locket of Poughkeepsie on Route 9D and took him into custody. He was charged with robbery, a felony, assault and resisting arrest, misdemeanors.
Locket was arraigned in Town of Poughkeepsie Court and remanded to Dutchess County Jail on $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond.
