An Orange County man is accused of injuring an Ulster County officer and damaging a police car.

On Sunday around 4:45 a.m., deputies from the Ulster County Sheriff's Office and New Paltz police found 23-year-old Daniel V. Duvoll of Pine Bush in a parking lot in New Paltz allegedly creating a disturbance.

After he refused to leave the area he pushed a deputy and later fought with police while being taken into custody, police say.

Duvoll is also accused of kicking and damaging a Town of New Paltz Police vehicle before being subdued. While in custody, he also later kicked a deputy, causing an injury to the deputy's wrist, according to the Ulster County Sheriff's Office.

Duvoll was charged with assault, for hitting a police officer, a felony, obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest, misdemeanors, as well as violations for harassment and disorderly conduct.

Duvoll was arraigned in the Town of Plattekill Court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 secured bond.

The Town of New Paltz Police Department is filing separate charges to the damage to their police car, police say.
