New York Ranks Among Greenest States

According to recent survey, New York nearly tops the nation with our eco-friendliness.

With Earth Day a week away, we should talk about how "green" New York is compared to the rest of the country.

In the past year, the U.S. has seen an especially devastating amount of natural disasters. And the U.S. was home to three of the world’s costliest in 2018, which combined cost approximately $30 billion.

In order to showcase the states doing right by Mother Earth, WalletHub compared the 50 states in terms of 27 key metrics that speak to the current health of the environment and residents’ environmental-friendliness.

New york was ranked as the 2nd greenest state. Here's the breakdown:
