Hudson Valley Employee Admits to Selling Stolen Inventory on Ebay
A local man has been arrested after being accused of stealing $1500 worth of items from work and selling them on Ebay.
Back at the end of September, Saugerties police launched an investigation into missing inventory from Peak Trading. The industrial equipment supplier in Ulster County called authorities after they realized two dozen chainsaw sharpeners and carbide cutters valued at $1500 were missing.
Police discovered the missing items were brazenly being sold on Ebay and traced the sale back to Robert Delgado from Saugerties. Delgado, a 52-year-old employee of Peak Trading, met with police for an interview and admitted that he did steal the items over several months and put them up for sale on the online auction site.
After speaking with police Delgado was taken into custody and charged with Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree, which is a felony. The Saugerties man was processed and released with am appearance ticket. Delgado will return to court to face charges on November 14.
