Residents of a local village now have the opportunity of purchasing fresh produce and other homegrown products every Sunday.

Lots of Hudson Valley towns host a weekly farm market where community members can take advantage of the abundance of fresh fruits, vegetables and other items grown right in our area. For communities that don't offer a farm market, it means traveling to another town or heading out to find a nearby farm stand.

Residents of the Village of Wappingers Falls don't have to do either of those things anymore. This past Sunday was the very first market for the Village. Now, each week Mesier Park will be filled with farmers and vendors on Sundays from 10am to 2pm through October.

Aside from the farm market, the Village of Wappingers has also kicked off their summer entertainment program . This Saturday the movie Peter Rabbit, will be shown for free starting at 8pm in Mesier Park. A special lemonade stand will also be set up during the film to benefit WPDH's Battle of the Stands which supports Alex's Lemonade Stand's campaign to end childhood cancer.
