Greene County Student Posts Video Threatening To Blow Up School
Two school threats were investigation by state police in Greene County.
In the first incident, a 16-year-old was reported to have had a gun in school on October 29. The investigation revealed that the student had brought a BB gun to the Hudson Career and Technical Education Center and then to The Cairo-Durham High School.
There was no indication that BB gun was loaded or that the student had any ammunition with it. Based on the student's age and curcumtances of the case, there were no charges filed and any discipline will be handled by the School Administration.
In the second incident, a 17-year-old student of Coxsackie-Athens High School, posted a video on social media indicating that the student was going to blow up the school.
A sweep of the school was conducted by State Police K-9 Units which resulted in no explosive devices being found. The student was taken into custody, and charged with making a terroristic threat, a felony.
The student was arraigned and released to their parents. State Police were assisted by the School Resource Officers from both the Greene County Sheriff’s Office and the Village of Coxsackie Police Dept.
