It seems like we can’t agree on anything. Not you and me, but we as a country. Some people are for war, others against it. Some people lean to the left, others to the right. It’s always been that way, but the past few years have been even worse when it comes to talking about our differences. If there is one thing we should be able to agree on it’s that our veterans and first responders are heroes.

Veterans and first responders put their lives on the line for us every day without even thinking twice about it. Do we show them enough appreciation? Probably not. Especially the veterans who come back from war with PTSD and find it hard to adjust to the “real world”. And so many of those veterans still just want to give back. Is a concert and a day of fun a good way to show our appreciation? It’s a start.

The Ulster County Salutes our Heroes Tribute Concert is coming up this Saturday, Sept. 17 from 4PM - 9PM at the Ulster County Fairgrounds on Libertyville Road in New Paltz. There will be live music from 3 of the Hudson Valley’s best local rock bands. Thunder Ridge, Wild Night, and the Ceesar Band will all be hitting the stage Saturday. Plus food trucks, a touch-a-truck, a rock climbing wall, Star Wars characters and a huge fireworks display.. And one of the best parts? All proceeds will go to the Help for Heroes Lodge.

The Ulster County Salutes our Heroes Tribute Concert will have something fun for every member of your family, and admission is totally free. In the event of rain, the concert will be held on Sunday, Sept. 18. For more information visit the Ulster County Salutes our Heroes Tribute Concert website.
