Longtime ESPN broadcaster Stuart Scott passed away Sunday morning after battling cancer. Scott was 49 years old.

Scott spent more than two decades working with ESPN, starting in 1993. He was known for his catchphrases, like, "As cool as the other side of the pillow" just to name one.

In recent years he took a leading role in the fight against cancer. It was in 2007 that potentially cancerous tissue was discovered during a appendectomy. That was the beginning to a long battle with the disease.

In 2014 Stuart Scott was honored at the ESPY awards, where he was the recipient of the Jimmy V ESPY award for Perseverance. Here's the clip of his great speech:

Stuart Scott has always been my favorite broadcaster to watch on ESPN, he paved the way for what they have become.
