
Dutchess County Police Department Issues Fraud Alert
A Dutchess County police department is warning the public of an online solicitation for money from people posing as members of the police department.
The Village of Wappingers Police Department was recently made aware of a fraudulent solicitation for money being committed on Facebook, where unknown people are identifying as members of the Village Police Department.
If you receive a request for money from any social media application stating it is a member of the Village of Wappingers Police Department, it is fraudulent.
The Village of Wappingers Police Department asks that you report any such incidents to their agency or the New York State Police.
