How do you empty a 4,000 gallon swimming pool in just seconds? Apparently it's not that hard.

As summer draws to a close I found myself in the same predicament as many other Hudson Valley homeowners. What do you do about that cheap, above ground pool in the backyard?

We picked up the pool for just $100 on Amazon and it served us well for most of the summer. But, as you'd expect from a $100 pool, it's only got so much life in it. The cheap filter that came with it gave out weeks ago, and the aluminum frame is bending to the point where it's only a matter of time before the whole thing falls over. I'm sad to say that our pool has seen it's last cannonball.

So, it's time to say goodbye.

And if you're going to throw away a pool, why not have it go out in a blaze of glory?

Do you have any pool disaster stories to share? We'd love to hear them. You can post your thoughts on our Facebook page or in the comments section below.
