‘American Pickers’ Returning to Hudson Valley, Need Your Treasures
American Pickers is coming back to the Hudson Valley and producers are on the lookout for interesting antique collections and eccentric, local characters.
The popular documentary series, American Pickers, follows Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz as they travel the country in search of antiques and forgotten pieces of history. The show has visited our area several times over the past five years, with some of their treasure hunts winding up on the series.
The show, which airs on History, has announced that it will be returning to New York State in May. Once again, Mike and Frank are on the lookout for local residents with interesting and unique items. A press release lists some specific things they are looking for including vintage bicycles, toys, unusual radios, movie memorabilia, advertising, military items, folk art, early firefighting equipment, vintage musical equipment, automotive items, and clothing.
Just as important as the items they discover, however, are the people that Mike and Frank encounter along the way. As usual, producers are looking for interesting local characters to be on the show. They also emphasize that the pickers are always excited to find things that they've never seen before and learn the story behind it, so if you have something that may not be valuable, but tells an interesting story, you should reach out to them.
If you have any leads for American Pickers in the Hudson Valley just send your name, phone number and a description of the collection with pictures to americanpickers@cineflix.com or call 855-OLD-RUST.
