This is pretty scary especially if you know someone who suffers from severe allergic reactions.

Matt Holliday missed Sunday's game against Texas after feeling the effects of some sort of allergy he picked up while the team played in Oakland last week.

Manager Joe Girardi said:

It’s not to where it was (in Oakland). But it hasn’t completely went away. … There’s a concern. We got to figure out what’s going on here.

The NY Dailey News says that Holliday had an allergic reaction after eating breakfast on June 17. he ended up missing that day's game in Oakland, then returned to the lineup, only to sit again Sunday. Girardi said he'll undergo testing to see what's the problem.

The Yankees have been struggling as of late with a number of issues including pitching and injuries, and now this.

Giradi says he hopes to have Holliday back in the starting lineup Monday night as the team heads to Chicago to face the White Sox.
