Released in October of 1984 on Island Records, The Unforgettable Fire would see the band going in a different musical direction than their previous hard rocking album War. The album who's title is a reference to an art exhibit about the atomic bombing of Hiroshima would go three times platinum in the U.S for sales of 3 million copies and produced the band's biggest hit at the time, "Pride (In the Name of Love)" along with the live favorite "Bad".
