WPDH Album of the Week: Soundgarden ‘Superunknown’

Superunknown was a critical and commercial success for Soundgarden upon it's release in March of 1995 on A&M Records. It was also their breakthrough album debuting at number 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and selling over 300,000 copies it's first week out. The album was nominated for a Grammy for Best Rock Album in 1995 has gone on to sell over 5 million copies in the U.S. alone featuring singles "The Day I Tried to Live", "Fell on Black Days", "Spoonman", and "Black Hole Sun". Superunknown remains to this day Soundgarden's most successful album. The album was reissued in special edition forms in 2014 for it's 20th anniversary.
