A group of Burger King employees did over $35,000 worth of damage when they smashed all of the restaurant's windows. One employee even drove their car into parts of the building.

But this may not have been just a simple case of vandalism. Perhaps, the workers were just very gullible.

The NY Daily News reports that a prank caller, claiming to be from the local fire department, called into the Morro Bay, California Burger King on Saturday night warning the employees that there was a gas leak and instructing them to ventilate the building,

The employees responded by smashing out all windows in the restaurant. Cal Coastal News reports that a manager on duty even drove his car through the front doors, and crashed into the drive-thru area.

When the real fire department arrived on scene, they discovered the damage, but no gas leak.

The owner of the Burger King said that the vigilante manager has since been suspended.

Police are still looking for the individual who placed the prank call as of Wednesday.
